The Spelling Guide consists of the following sections: "Spelling Rules", "Punctuation Marks", "Other Marks Used in Writing", "Abbreviations", "Index of Abbreviations", and "General Index". Dear Students, Language is the primary tool that enables communication between people. We convey our feelings, requests, and thoughts through language. The only element that brings people closer, unites them, and keeps societies standing is language. Language ensures the development, continuity, and survival of a country's cultural heritage. A language has two aspects: one is the spoken language we use orally in our daily relationships; the other is the written language with which we express what we want to convey in writing. All individuals of a nation use the same language both in writing and in speech. However, the written language has a distinct characteristic. The written language is the language of a nation's culture and civilization. Nations with great civilizations, cultures, and historical accumulations possess a written language. A nation's linguistic unity is ensured through its written unity. This is possible through the realization of orthographic unity. Spelling (orthography) is the act of transcribing a language's vocabulary in accordance with the sound, form, origin, etc., rules valid at that time; it is writing the words and suffixes in a language according to their rules. In another definition, orthography is the common way of writing that ensures the words of a language are transcribed correctly.
