Everything had always begun with a questioning. When he started studying philosophy, he had made this choice primarily with a desire that was ‘for its own sake.’ Because he found himself first on the threshold of a quest and then of a transformation, he had begun by delving into research into himself, and as his investigations deepened and he devoted a large part of every day to them, he decided to turn to this professionally as well. Above all, he pondered the world in which we live, the reason for human existence, and the differences between people. From birth to death, he often asked himself, ‘This entire span of transition must have a meaning.’
‘This slice of time must surely have a value and a meaning. If the period of time from a person’s birth to their death had no meaning or purpose, it would also be impossible to understand what the glaringly obvious inequalities and differences experienced in every aspect of human life signify. Like every piece of matter, every phenomenon, every atom, every human being is different in every way. From their appearance, language, thoughts, and belief systems to their physical and biological characteristics, they are clothed in differences. Yet even among so many differences, there must be a balance. Even when considering only the world within the universe, it is impossible not to be astonished and filled with admiration at the balance revealed by science.’
Throughout this philosophical journey, two lines he remembered from Dante—‘Here all disbelief must be left behind, All cowardice must die here’—seemed to echo in his ears everywhere. A pinnacle to be reached, made his goal... After first investigating what, how, why, and where, he was now passionately heading toward that highest point, which he believed he now understood and had found.
