Açıklama
Professor Annemarie Schimmel, who encountered Rumi’s works in her youth, devoted her life, in her own words, to Islamic mysticism, and particularly to the study of Rumi. Professor Schimmel, who passed away in 2003, played a major role in bringing Rumi’s significance to the world and remains one of the best-known figures in the field of Islamic mysticism in Europe and, indeed, throughout the world.
I Am the Wind, You Are the Fire, a work by such an important scholar, journeys through Rumi’s world of symbols, presenting his worldview, understanding of love, view of poetry, and subtle ideas about faith in God in a poetic style. Woven from beginning to end like lace with the countless metaphors and allusions Rumi used, the book serves as a guide to understanding the great Sufi in depth.
In this study, Professor Schimmel explores Rumi’s ideas—whether familiar to us or merely thought to be familiar—in new dimensions laid out before us layer by layer. I Am the Wind, You Are the Fire is a resource that every reader wishing to understand Rumi’s life, works, and times will want on their bookshelf.
